A lot has been happening and we have been so busy it seems the only time to escape and get some information out is getting on a plane. (And that is quickly disappearing with in flight internet, luckily not available on today’s flight…).

When my sailing buddy contacted me to ask if I wanted to help sail his newly acquired boat from Tortola, British Virgin Islands to Cape Canaveral, FL I knew it was going to be a hard decision. Do I abandon FreePBX for a month and go sailing the Caribbean or keep coding?

In case you missed it, our lead developer Philippe Lindheimer gave a wonderful presentation on FreePBX at Astricon this past Oct. (2009). The presentation gives a very nice overview of FreePBX, its capabilities, and what the future holds. See it here:

One of the systems I manage is an 875 Extension Cisco Unified Call Manager(UCM). At the moment the system uses SCAN trunks for long distance calling. These SCAN Trunks are provided by the state of Washington and interconnect via a four port FXO card. Callers use a PIN to make long distance calls. This is [...]

Sometime early in 2006 I started building systems with AA@H. About the only inexpensive way to learn Asterisk was in the forums and blogs. It was in the Nervittles blog of Ward Mundy that I won entrance to the first Fonality trixbox® Open Communications Certification (FtOCC, pronounced “F-talk”) workshop, held in LA – March 2007.
